How to buy crypto for a casino: from your bank to your first deposit

Coins · First steps

You need no technical knowledge to buy your first cryptocurrency. You need an exchange, a few minutes for verification and care at one single step: the network you use to send coins to the casino. This guide takes you from your bank account to a casino balance.

If you have never owned cryptocurrency, the first step looks like the hardest. It is not. The road from your bank account to a casino balance has five stages, and four of them are as simple as paying a bill online. The fifth, sending to the casino, needs attention to a single detail. We explain it at length.

The short version

  1. Open an account on an exchange that accepts your currency.
  2. Pass the identity check the exchange requires.
  3. Deposit money by card or bank transfer.
  4. Buy USDT or Bitcoin.
  5. Send the coin to the address in the casino cashier, on the same network.

Step 1: choose where to buy

You have three options, each with different strengths.

A large exchange. The most common choice. It accepts money by card and transfer, charges low fees on purchases and lets you send coins on several networks. It requires identity verification, like any financial service.

A payments app with a crypto feature. Some banking and payment apps sell cryptocurrency. They are convenient, but not all of them let you send coins outside the app. If you cannot withdraw the coins to an external address, you cannot use them at a casino.

The casino's buy button. Some crypto casinos have a “Buy crypto” button that sends you to an outside processor. You pay by card and the coins land straight in your casino account. It is the shortest route and also the most expensive.

Step 2: verification on the exchange

Exchanges ask for identity verification before you can deposit money: an ID document, sometimes a photo and an address. It is a routine procedure and is usually quick. Exchange verification has nothing to do with the casino; the casino has its own rules, set out in each one's terms.

Turn on two-factor authentication on the exchange straight away. Your account there holds money.

Step 3: deposit money

A card is fastest but has the highest fee. A bank transfer is cheaper and takes longer. For a first try, a small amount by card is enough.

Step 4: choose the coin

For a casino, a few coins cover almost every situation:

CoinWhyWhat to know
USDTValue pegged to the dollar, low fee on TRC-20The network must be chosen correctly
BitcoinAccepted by every casinoThe fee can be high on small amounts, the price moves
LitecoinLow fee, quickThe price moves

For a first deposit we suggest USDT on TRC-20: you know exactly what your balance is worth and you pay little to send it. More in USDT casinos and Bitcoin casinos.

The Rocketpot terms with the accepted coins

Rocketpot lists its accepted coins in the terms, 13 at the time of reading. Documents can be requested from 2,500 USD withdrawn.

Buy slightly more than you want to deposit. The exchange's withdrawal fee comes out of the amount, and a deposit below the casino's minimum may not be credited.

Step 5: send to the casino

This is where almost all mistakes happen. The right order:

  1. At the casino: open the cashier, choose “Deposit”, pick the coin (for example USDT) and the network (for example TRC-20). Copy the address shown.
  2. On the exchange: choose “Withdraw” or “Send”, pick the same coin and the same network. Paste the address.
  3. Check the address: the first and last four or five characters must be identical to those at the casino.
  4. Send a small amount first. Once it appears in your casino account, send the rest.
  5. Keep the transaction ID (TXID). It is your proof if the deposit does not appear.

At Vave you sign up with an email and a password. Identity checks, if they come, come later at the cashier under clause 8.7.

The mistakes that cost money

The wrong network. USDT on ERC-20 sent to a TRC-20 address, or the reverse. ERC-20 and BEP-20 addresses look the same, both starting with “0x”, but they are different networks.

A forgotten memo or tag. Some coins, such as XRP or TON at certain casinos, need a “memo” or “tag” as well as the address. Without it, the deposit is not credited to your account.

An amount below the minimum. Every casino has a minimum deposit per coin. A smaller amount may not be credited.

An old address. Some casinos change deposit addresses. Take it from the cashier every time.

A tampered clipboard. Some malware replaces the copied address with another one. That is why you check the characters after pasting.

The way back: from casino to bank

On withdrawal the road runs in reverse. In the casino cashier you pick the coin and network, paste your deposit address from the exchange (for the same network) and confirm. When the coins reach the exchange, you sell them and withdraw the money to your bank account.

Before a large withdrawal, read the cap and the document threshold in the casino's terms. You will find them for every operator on the home page.

A wallet of your own?

You can send coins from the exchange to a wallet of your own (an app where only you hold the keys) and from there to the casino. It is one more step, but it gives you full control. For small amounts and one casino it is not required. If you set one up, write the recovery phrase on paper and keep it safe: without it a lost wallet cannot be recovered.

A budget before the first coin

Decide how much you want to spend on gambling in a month before you buy your first coins. Buy only that much. It is easier to keep a limit when the money has to be bought again than when it is already sitting in a wallet. For free support: Joc Responsabil. 18+ only.
